STEM PRESENTATION AT GENEVA EPPS MOSLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL

Our executive team got together to provide a presentation to 7th graders attending Geneva Epps Mosley Middle School in Tempe, Arizona. We gave the students a quick introduction to the four elements of STEM, and then presented two real-life examples of STEM in action!

Example of Collision Theory

We explained the physics of collisions and had our executive team demonstrate an example of the transfer of energy within a collision!

Example of Elephant's Toothpaste

First, we shared the background of a chemical reaction. We taught the kids about catalysts, exothermic vs. endothermic reactions, and decomposition reactions.

Now, the fun part! We demonstrated the reaction of H2O2 decomposing into O2 and H2O using the catalyst, Potassium Iodide.
